Keep your children entertained and help them retain reading skills over the summer. Have them take the Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge.

Your child could win a Kindle e-book reader or a $75 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble, a free Eegee’s drink coupon or a free pass to the Reid Park Zoo, donated thanks to our generous sponsors.

To enter the prize drawing:

  • Pre-K children: parents or guardians read aloud at least 5 books to your child over the summer and write a brief summary of your experience.
  • K-12 students: read at least 5 books over the summer and write a brief review of each.
  • Return book reviews/summaries to summer.reading@tucsonaz.gov or Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge, P.O. Box 27210, Tucson, AZĀ  85726. Must be received by Friday, September 5, 2014.
  • Students who meet these requirements will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
  • Students must be present at prize drawing to win and to receive Certificates of Achievement.
  • Drawing is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Children’s Museum Tucson, 200 S. 6th Ave. Free admission at that time.
