…you’re not dreaming and yes, you’re still in Tucson.

The mural, by artist Rock Martinez and assistant Cristina Perez, is one of eight going up on downtown businesses, thanks to a $50,000 grant to the City of Tucson from the Tohono O’Odham Nation.

At a press conference this morning unveiling the first mural to near completion, Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild thanked the Tohono O’Odham Nation, the artists and businesses for their contribution, noting that the vitality of the murals matched “the renewed vitality of our downtown.”

Participating artists: Isaac Caruso, Ignacio Garcia, Niki Glen, Jessica Gonzales, Rock Martinez, Luis Mena, Summer Kitchen Studios—Alexandra, Rachel and Tim, To-Ree-Nee Wolf

Participating businesses/properties: Benjamin Supply, Café 54, Century Link, City of Tucson Housing and Community Development Department, 5 North 5th Hotel, John Wesley Miller, Rialto Theatre and Wig-O-Rama
