Hats Off to Heroes veterans celebration a success

Close to a thousand Tucsonans—veterans, servicemembers and civilians—showed up at Reid Park Saturday, November 14th, to honor Tucson’s veterans. Mayor Rothschild’s office worked with veterans groups to create “Hats Off to Heroes,” an extended celebration of Veterans Day. The event featured a 5K fun run, a veterans resource fair, live music, food trucks and fireworks. Mayor Rothschild also read a proclamation declaring Tucson a Purple Heart City and—for the second year in a row—Davis-Monthan Airmen took home the Tucson Veterans Day Cup!

Many thanks to title sponsor Tucson Subaru and all the volunteers, veterans resource agencies, sponsors and musical guests for making the event a success. Photos courtesy of Andy Seleznov.
