Trade and tourism are important economic drivers for Tucson, and both depend on the safe and efficient flow of goods and people across borders. The expanded Mariposa Border Port of Entry in Nogales can only function at full capacity with adequate staffing, yet Arizona currently has 170 unfilled positions for Customs Officers.
To help fill these positions, Mayor Rothschild offered to host a job fair. November 9th, the Tucson Police Department and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will hold a job fair at Pima Community College Downtown Campus, Amethyst Room, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Veterans are especially welcome to apply, with both agencies. For more information, see the flyer below and come to the job fair.
UPDATE: The Tucson Fire Department has also joined the job fair.
