Tucson Moves a Million Miles
Welcome to ‘Tucson Moves a Million Miles!’
‘I am proud to live in a city that gives me year round opportunities to bike, hike, walk, run, swim – you name it. ‘Tucson Moves a Million Miles’ is both a reminder and a challenge to engage in these opportunities, and I hope you join me in my goal to move 1 million miles as a city this year.’
-Mayor Jonathan Rothschild
What is ‘Tucson Moves a Million Miles’?
‘Tucson Moves a Million Miles’ began on January 11, 2014 at the BEYOND Tucson event. It was created in response to a previous challenge, ‘Walk 100 Miles with the Mayor,’ which began on June 1, 2013. Recognizing the strength of Tucsonans, Mayor Rothschild challenged Tucsonans to join him in moving 1 million miles. Physical activity is recorded online, and we will get fit together as a community!
