Tucson Moves a Million Miles

We’ve moved 198,360 miles!

“I’m proud to live in a city that gives me year-round opportunities to bike, hike, walk, run, swim – you name it. Tucson Moves a Million Miles is both a reminder and a challenge to be more active, and I hope you’ll join me in my goal to move one million miles together, as a city.”

What is Tucson Moves a Million Miles?

Tucson Moves a Million Miles began on January 11, 2014 at the BEYOND Tucson event. It was created in response to a previous challenge, Walk 100 Miles with the Mayor, which ended June 1, 2013. Many participated, so Mayor Rothschild challenged the community to join him in moving even farther – one million miles! Physical activity is recorded online, as Tucsonans of all ages improve their physical fitness and our city’s collective health.
