Mayor Rothschild, Allstate, community partners launch bike, pedestrian safety campaign

allstate_presserMayor Rothschild was joined by Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres, representatives from Allstate Insurance, the Tucson Police Department and other community partners at Santa Rita Park to kick off a safety campaign aimed at cyclists, pedestrians and motorists.

“For Tucson to be a city that’s bikeable and walkable for all ages, we need to be a safety-minded city,” said Mayor Rothschild. “Three words I want every Tucsonan to take to heart are: ‘Look Twice Tucson.’ If we do that, we’ll see the bike, the pedestrian, the car, and avoid a tragic collision. My thanks to Allstate for their generous participation in this campaign.”

“Look Twice Tucson” is the message at the heart of the safety campaign, which incorporates solar-powered blinking signs, bus stop ads and safety kit giveaways that include reflective backpacks, LED arm bands, clip-on flashing lights and safety tips for cyclists and pedestrians.
